GameSpot leans hard into reviews and long-form previews. I trust their hands-on impressions before launch day. They don’t chase every rumor like some sites do.
That’s good. (Most rumors are garbage anyway.)
Polygon covers culture and hardware. Think: how the Switch OLED changed portable play, or why DualSense haptics matter. Their writing is clear.
No jargon. Just real talk about what works (and) what doesn’t.
Eurogamer is the quiet expert. They break down patch notes like they’re sacred texts. Their Digital Foundry videos?
Important if you care how a game runs on your actual console. Use their “Platforms” dropdown menu. It’s buried but worth finding.
None of these sites make it easy to filter by console at first glance. So I skip the homepage. Go straight to the platform tag.
